Picture Sale at Messrs. Christie and Manson's, King-Street, St. James's, [London], 1856. '...one of the great attractions of every London season; for to the man of art, letters, and leisure, "Christie's" is as much a national establishment and favourite lounge as the Royal Academy or the Opera. We are compelled, by pressure of the week's news, to defer until next week an historical résumé of the important collections which have been dispersed in the room in King-street by Messrs. Christie and Manson, and by their predecessors. We shall add, at present, that the accompanying Illustration has been recently sketched, and contains portraits of well-known habitués of the rooms'.
