Hotel Alcazar and annex, St. Augustine, Fla., c1903. Hotel commissioned by Henry Flagler, to appeal to wealthy tourists who traveled south for the winter on his railroad, the Florida East Coast Railway. It was designed in the Spanish Renaissance Revival style by Carrère and Hastings. Note Standard Guide Information Bureau and souvenir shops.
