Rip Van Winkle House, Sleepy Hollow, Catskill Mountains, N.Y., c1902. Rip Van Winkle Hotel and gift shop selling 'beers'. Tourist attraction exploiting the geography of a ravine resembling the one described in the story of "Rip Van Winkle" by American author Washington Irving. The buildings were abandoned and later burned down after the Otis Elevating Railway was built.
