Poe Lock, Sault Ste. Marie, between 1890 and 1899. 'Tempest' on the left, and 'Lackawanna' on the right. The Soo Locks on the St. Marys River are a set of parallel locks that enable ships to travel between Lake Superior and the lower Great Lakes. Poe Lock was built in 1896.
