Confederate Monument, Savannah, Ga., between 1890 and 1901. Memorial designed by Robert Reid and David Richards, and originally known as the Confederate Monument. It was dedicated in 1875 to honour Confederate soldiers who died during the Civil War. Inscription: 'To the Confederate Dead - 1861-1865'. Following the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia in August 2017, the city of Savannah renamed it the Civil War Memorial.
