Dirk van Bronkhorst on his deathbed during the siege of Leiden in 1574, 1574-1599. A man, probably Dirk van Bronkhorst the military governor of Leiden, lies with a laurel wreath on his head and the coat of arms of the city of Leiden clasped to his chest with his right hand. With his last breath he says 'Houd het myn Leiden' - 'Keep Leiden mine'. Subject previously identified as Prince William of Orange.
