Many of them had been suffering from fever, and seventy men of the 1st Fusiliers had been transferred to them. The principal object in the town is the church, a building with a large ugly tower, which makes a capital mark for entering the harbour. The lighthouse seen on the projecting point of land is called Minora Point'. From "Illustrated London News", 1857.
