Holy Trinity Church, Church Street, Lenton, City of Nottingham, 1940-1949. Detail of two sides of a 12th century cubical font, originally from Lenton Priory, in the Holy Trinity Church. The font is 12th century and originally from Lenton Priory and made from a single piece of stone in the shape of a cube. It is on a stepped base installed in 1904 and has a round metal cover. Two sides of the font are visible, and each has a different scene. The left side shows the Crucifixion of Christ, with an elborate cross and figures at the bottom, and the right side shows a panel of the Baptism of Christ. The baptism is in the lower central panel, surrounded by two panels either side and six above, all filled with figures.
