The Earl of Ellesmere, 1876. 'The Right Honourable Francis Charles Granville Egerton, third Earl of Ellesmere, Viscount Brackley, in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, who seconded the Address in the Lords, is the eldest son of the second Earl, by the youngest daughter of the first Earl of Cawdor. He was born in London in 1847; married, in 1868, Lady Katharine Louisa, second daughter of the second Marquis of Normanby; was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge; and succeeded his father in 1862. The peerages of Ellesmere and Brackley were first acquired by the distinguished Lord Chancellor Egerton, whose descendant was created Duke of Bridgwater'. From "Illustrated London News", 1876.
