Queen Victoria '...accompanied by their Royal Highnesses the Princess of Wales and Princess Beatrice...The sword of state was borne by the Duke of Richmond in advance of her Majesty; the Duke of Norfolk, as Earl Marshal, and the Deputy Lord Chamberlain, Lord Aveland, immediately preceding the Queen. She was attired in a black velvet dress, with a train which had trimmings of crape and miniver; she wore a long tulle veil, surmounted by a small diamond crown; her ornaments were a diamond necklace, the koh-i-noor as a brooch, the ribbon and star of the Garter, and the decorations of the Victoria and Albert Order. The Queen was attended by the Duchess of Wellington, as Mistress of the Robes, and by the Countess of Erroll, as Lady in Waiting. There were ladies in waiting likewise for the Princesses'.
