New Church of St. Mary, Stoke Newington, 1858. '...our Illustration shows rather what the building is to be than what it is at present. The works are, however, still going on...This church is one of the most favourable examples of ecclesiastical architecture that has been executed in the suburbs of London in our own time...The designs for this church were furnished by G. G. Scott, Esq., architect, Spring-gardens, London. Mr. George Myers is the contractor for the building, whose practical foreman is Mr. Sampson Groves, and Mr. Allen the clerk of the works; the whole acting under the supervision of the architect'.
