Floral Still Life, c.1800-c.1825. Georgius van Os painted his flowers in bright colours, with crisp contours and little attention to light and shade, entirely in keeping with the taste of his time. The uniform grey background also contributes to the still life's distinct character. The watercolour can be compared to the still lifes Van Os painted on porcelain in the famous factory in Sèvres near Paris.
