Folding paper fan with the meeting of Ruth and Boaz during the corn harvest, c.1780-c.1795. In the central gold rimmed cartouche, Ruth looks surprised at Boaz, the owner of the cornfield, who 'caught' her when harvesting. Flanked by cartouches with fruits, inlaid with silver and gold, small oval medallions with a classic vase and larger windows filled with grapes, apples, pears, peaches and melon. The whole is decorated with flower garlands.
