Illuminated Leaf with the Profession of Clarissan Nun, c1530-1550. Twelve rectangular images with scenes from the Passion of Christ, from the Life of St. Clare of Assisi, and from the profession of a Clarissan nun. The twelve scenes are enclosed within a 'strewn flower' border in liquid gold and colours, typical of those painted in illuminated manuscripts in Ghent and Bruges beginning ca. 1470.
