A lovely visit, 1894. An injured soldier, carefully propped up in bed by a comrade, greets his horse which has been brought to visit him in hospital. The patient, with eyes closed, reaches out his hand in a loving greeting. Through the window is a wintry, snow-covered barracks yard. The patient's condition is likely to be serious - this may be a farewell to his faithful steed.
