Kimbolton Castle, Hunts, the seat of the Duke of Manchester, visited last week by the Prince of Wales, 1861. 'The Duke and Duchess of Manchester had the honour of entertaining last week the Prince of Wales [the future King Edward VII] at the Duke's seat, Kimbolton Castle, in Huntingdonshire. This castle, an ancient stone building, was the residence of Catherine of Aragon, the first wife of King Henry VIII., after her divorce, and here she died. It has undergone many alterations since that period. The park is well stocked with deer. The accompanying Engraving represents the east front of Kimbolton Castle'. The 10th Duke of Manchester sold the contents in 1949, and the castle and 50 acres were sold to Kimbolton School in 1951. From "Illustrated London News", 1861.
