Testimonial presented by the Admiralty to M. and Mdme. Legrand of Cordova, 1861. 'The handsome piece of presentation plate of which we give an Engraving has just been executed by Messrs. R. and S. Garrard, of the Haymarket, for the Admiralty. An inscription engraved on the foot of the cup explains the particulars of the incident which gave rise to its being made and presented. It is as follows: "Presented by the Admiralty of Great Britain to Monsieur and Madame Legrand, of Cordova, to mark their appreciation of the kindness and hospitality shown to Captain Aldham, of H.M.S. Valorous, when wounded by brigands in Mexico. 1861".' From "Illustrated London News", 1861.
