"Through Life and For Life": the Basket of Mushrooms, 1862. Illustration from a book by D. Richmond, '...called "Through Life and For Life; a Story of Discipline." The title will indicate that it is written with a purpose, and a perusal of it will show that it is a well-constructed and interesting story, containing both character and incident. It is illustrated with some care and attention to effect, and we have transferred one of the Illustrations to our columns. It is called "The Basket of Mushrooms," and represents one of the marked characters of the work, and it is a graceful and easy delineation of the female form. The executant of the illustrations is not named in the book, but we here beg to offer him our commendations in a decidedly practical and unmistakable manner'. From "Illustrated London News", 1862.
