'The decorations by Mr. Kershaw...while they might be more harmonious in colouring are yet of a very satisfactory character. That formed largely of strapwork is in two blue greys and gold, and the other pattern is in red-maroon, green, and low-toned yellow'. From "Illustrated London News", 1862.
