The International Exhibition: cups made of ostrich eggs, in the Algerian Court, 1862. 'The cups which we engrave may be classed amongst the curious works which wo have rarely the opportunity of seeing. Formed of ostrich-eggs, they are beautiful in shape; and, while we cannot say much in favour of the ornament which is carved on the shell, the filigree mountings in gold and silver are very beautiful. Quaint in appearance and unique in aspect, these cups appear in the exhibition as objects of interest, in the secluded south-east comer of the French Court'. From "Illustrated London News", 1862.
