Women's Motor Corps, 1917 or 1918. Captain Charles Albert Adams (1846-1929) a U.S. naval officer who served as the commander of the USS Recruit, a wooden mockup of a battleship built in Union Square, New York City by the Navy to recruit seamen and sell Liberty Bonds during World War I. Adams is with women of the Women's Motor Corps, part of the National League of Women's Service.
