The Stockton Race Cup, 1864. Horse racing trophy. 'The Stockton cup, won by Bandarilla on Thursday, Sept. 1, was manufactured by Messrs. E. and E. Emanuel, of Portsmouth designed and modelled by Mr. H. O. Hale. The group of sculpture with which it is adorned takes its subject from a passage in the fifth book of Homer's "Iliad," describing the Grecian chiefs Nestor and Diomed riding in the same war-chariot'.
