One piece from a gold dessert service, manufactured by Webb and Son and presented to James Hewitt, 4th Viscount Lifford, Deputy Lieutenant for the County of Donegal. 'The merits of Viscount Lifford, in originating and promoting the Finn Valley line of railway - the first to penetrate the county of Donegal - lately received a graceful recognition from the people of that district...Since the opening [in 1863,] the line has been progressing most favourably, and promises to be one of the best railway speculations started in Ireland'.
