The way to Emmaus, no.2, 1914. In this scene, the resurrected Christ has found two disciples on the road to Emmaus who are dressed like working-class contemporaries of Strang. A disguised Christ interacts with them and they convince him to travel with them, all the while discussing with sadness the recent event of his death. The road is minimally described, and there is nothing in the distance apart from a few houses on the left. The message of Christ's humanity, surely consistent with Strang's socialist sympathies, is what ultimately counts.
