Die Römischen Ansichten (Views of Rome)/ Acquedotti sotto S. Bonaventura in Roma, 1810. From a series of 20 etchings in the series Die Römischen Ansichten (Views of Rome). This depicts the terminus of a branch of the Claudian aqueduct under the monastery of San Bonaventura in Rome. The aqueduct is a memorial to ancient Roman technology - it was built under the orders of the emperor Domitian to supplement the water supply to the Palatine complex.
