Sir John Soane's Museum in Lincoln's-Inn-Fields: the Monks' Parlour, 1864. 'We now descend to the Monks' Parloir, which has its ceiling and walls mostly covered with fragments and casts of ecclesiastical and other structures, carvings in wood and ivory, and engraved brasses; vases found in ancient Peruvian tombs, painted glass, &c.; and a fine Flemish carving, in wood, of the Crucifixion'.
