'In Lambeth the returning officer, Mr. H. Onslow, presided at the nomination. Mr. Frederick Doulton was proposed by Dr. Evans and seconded by Mr. James Richardson; Alderman James Clark Lawrence was proposed by Mr. R. Taylor and seconded by Mr. Lyon; Mr. Thomas Hughes was proposed by Mr. G. T. Wilson and seconded by Mr. Stuart Barker; Mr. James Haig was proposed by Mr. F. Fowler and seconded by Mr. Reynell.
