Goodwood Races: the Stewards' Cup - Robin Hood Winding The Morte, 1865. One of the silver cups, '...or pieces of plate, which formed the principal prizes won at Goodwood races last week. The Chesterfield Cup [or the Stewards' Cup?], which has been manufactured by Messrs. R. and S. Garrard, of the Haymarket, was designed by Mr. Harrison Weir and modelled by Mr. W. Spencer. It displays a very spirited and lifelike figure of the English archer, Robin Hood, standing upon the body of a deer which he has just killed, and sounding a blast of triumph with his rustic horn; whilst a noble hound gives tongue as loudly in his own fashion, for the information of their belated comrades in the chase, who have not come up in time to be "in at the death".'
