John Thomas Pelham, D.D., a brother of the third Earl of Chichester, was born in 1811, and educated at Westminster School, and at Christchurch College, Oxford; he was successively Rector of Burgh Apton, Incumbent of Christ Church, Hampstead, and, for two years, Rector of the great London parish of Marylebone, which he resigned in 1857 to accept the See of Norwich, vacated by the resignation of Dr. Hinds'.
