Lord Justice Sir William Page Wood, 1868. Engraving from a photograph by John Watkins. 'Sir William Page Wood...was called to the Bar in 1827 by the Hon. Society of Lincoln's Inn. He obtained a seat in the House of Commons, for the city of Oxford, in 1847, and continued to represent that constituency till 1853. He was Solicitor-General in 1851 and 1852, and became Vice-Chancellor in the latter year. He was Vice-Chancellor of the County Palatine of Lancaster from 1849 to 1851'.
