Mr. S. W. Baker's explorations in Central Africa: homestead of natives of Gondokoro, 1865. 'These are the Bari tribe, who are very warlike, being armed with lances and bows. Their arrows are poisoned, and they are hostile to all strangers. They go stark naked, except a flap of mail formed of small iron rings worn by the women as an apron. The men are clever blacksmiths, although they have no tools but stones for both hammer and anvil. There is much fine iron in their country'. From "Illustrated London News", 1865.
