This room, measuring 47 ft long by 26 ft. wide, is well lighted and thoroughly furnished with casts from the antique...Upwards of 120 students are on the books, and as many as 150 could be accommodated. The school is the only one devoted exclusively to female education in art, and deserves a visit from those interested in the advancement of art-education amongst women...The considerable number of works in the present Academy exhibition by female contributors, and the honourable positions they deservedly occupy, together with the fact that the last gold medal for historical painting of the Academy was won by a female competitor, Miss L. Starr, serve to indicate the importance of the results which would certainly be attained if the female portion of the population enjoyed the same facilities for study as male students...The measure of success attending the school since its foundation has not been obtained without support from the public...
