The Royal Party at Ascot Races, [Berkshire], 1868. 'The Royal party in the Queen's Stand on the Cup Day...[consisted] of the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Crown Prince of Denmark, Prince and Princess Christian, Prince and Princess Teck, and the Duke of Cambridge, who were accompanied by the Duke of Sutherland, Lady Spencer, and Lady Bingham. The Princess of Wales wore a pink dress trimmed with white. Her Royal Highness and the Prince were heartily cheered when they drove along the route from the New Mile to the Stand, and again when they showed themselves at the window'.
