[Journalist:] "Mr. Oliver, is it true that you're going to marry Miss [Sarah] Churchill?" [Oliver:] "That is a statement that I cannot answer at the present time, because...I must wait till her brother Randolph arrives here tomorrow morning".' Vic Oliver married Sarah Churchill, daughter of Sir Winston Churchill, later that year. They divorced in 1945. As a Jew, his name was reportedly listed on a Nazi blacklist (known as "The Black Book") of people to be arrested and killed immediately in the event of a successful German invasion of Britain.
