"Shoot - and do your worst" - title card from silent film, 1920s. '...lack of sound gave the silent director an advantage - he could if need be, condense the whole pageant, an agony of mankind, into one brief, succinct subtitle'. The White Sheik (1928), also known as King's Mate, was a British silent adventure film directed by Harley Knoles and starring Lillian Hall-Davis, Jameson Thomas and Warwick Ward.
