Leonard Warden Bonney On Board the 'Bonney Gull', 1920s. The 'Bonney Gull' was an aeroplane with duraluminum folding gull-like wings and a side-by-side cockpit designed by American aviator Leonard Warden Bonney. Bonney was killed when the aircraft crashed shortly after take-off on its maiden flight.
