Mae Sullivan, between c1910 and c1915. Mae Sullivan was the young woman who accused Arthur Hoe of breach of promise. In June 1914, she went on stage to capitalize on the interest in the scandal--she carried a garden hoe (as a reference to his name), sang a little song, and said a few words, at Hammerstein's Victoria Theatre.
