Children at City Hall, 1917. Shows crowd of children with flags outside City Hall in New York City, during an Americanization rally on April 27, 1917. Five thousand school children of New York of all nationalities by descent or birth appeared in City Hall Park and sang the National anthem and saluted the flag. This is part of a general movement to Americanize the foreign-born population of New York. Sunday Oregonian.
