'The Little Corporal" in exile: Napoleon at St. Helena, 1909. 'Before 1819 Napoleon had felt symptoms of the disease which eventually proved fatal to him - cancer of the stomach. Dr. O'Meara, who first attended him, left St. Helena in that year, and was succeeded by a Corsican, Dr. Antommarchi. From a drawing made in 1820 by Captain Dodgin, of the 66th Regiment'.
