Mr. C. F. G. Masterman, M.P., reported to be appointed Under-Secretary for Home Affairs, 1909. 'Mr. C. F. G. Masterman, the Member [of Parliament] for West Ham, [was] hitherto Parliamentary Secretary to the Local Government Board. Mr. Masterman had a distinguished career at Cambridge, and is well known for his literary and philanthropic work, being, among other things, secretary of that excellent institution the Children's Country Holiday Fund'.
