Officer, 2nd Regiment of the Life Guards, 1812, (1909). 'In 1812 the Life Guards were with Wellington in the Peninsula. "The Brigade of Life Guards and Blues," writes Sir George Arthur, "embarked at Portsmouth early in Noven1bcr 1812, and after a very rough passage landed at Lisbon on the 23rd....It was not until the 23rd May that the Brigade...joined the camp of the Allies near San Manoz.''
