The Hon. Artillery Company's Ball: the Princess of Wales's Boudoir, 1870. 'The ball given by the Hon. Artillery Company of London, in honour of the Prince and Princess of Wales, on Wednesday week, was a splendid entertainment. The Armoury House...was fitted up and decorated for this festive occasion...The old guard-room had been transformed into a boudoir for the special use of the Princess of Wales [future Queen Alexandra], on the same floor with the ball-room. It was splendidly furnished, and the walls were hung with drapery; an Aubusson carpet covered the floor; a handsome white marble chimneypiece and steel stove hid the ancient fireplace...At the entrance to her boudoir the Princess of Wales was received by seven ladies, wives of officers of the company'. From "Illustrated London News", 1870.
