A battle-ship docked on the water: H.M.S. "Sans Pareil" on a floating-dock in the Tyne, 1909. 'This remarkable picture shows the largest floating-dock in existence, which has a lifting capacity of 17,000 tons, being tested recently in the Tyne. Docked in it is the battle-ship "Sans Pareil," which it has lifted bodily out of the water. The dock was built to the order of the Admiralty for service at Bermuda, and has to be towed nearly 4000 miles to its destination'. From "Illustrated London News", 1909.
