Great Suffolk Street, Southwark, Greater London Authority, 1960-1985. Detail of a Clink bollard dated 1826 on Great Suffolk Street, Southwark. The Liberty of the Clink was an area of Southwark which was under the jurisdiction of the Bishop of Winchester, rather than the City of London or county of Surrey. It was abolished in 1889. The Clink is most famous for its prison.
