Kokamon, Iyemitsu, about 1875-1890s. View of the Kokamon Gate, also known as the Ryugumon Gate, at the Taiyuin Shrine or Taiyu-in Reibyo, the mausoleum of the shogun, Tokugawa Iemitsu. The gate's otherwise square-shaped archway has rounded upper corners and is topped with an ornately decorated roof. The staircase that leads to the gate is flanked by two large lanterns.
