Carinthian gate, about 1850-1859. An arched gateway set into a tall brick wall at the end of a city street. The gate is adorned with sculptures of shields and is inscribed with Roman numerals. A man in military dress is standing beside the entrance to the gateway. Two men are standing along the shops lining the left side of the street.
