Distaff, 1st-2nd century A.D. Additional Info: A rod of twisted dark-green glass with a flat disk at one end and shaped into an oval loop at the other. There is a break where the loop attaches to the rod. This glass rod is similar in size and shape to glass distaffs, used to spin wool; the terminating loop made the tool easier to hold.
