Fresco Depicting Draped Female Holding an Orb and a Wand, 1st century A.D. Additional Info: Preserved is a fragmentary, reconstructed fresco of a half-nude female figure with billowing drapery holding an orb and a wand. She wears a floral or leafy crown and soft shoes tied at the ankle. The figure is placed against the plain background of the fresco and her toes point downward, which indicates that she hovers in space. She is probably Urania, the muse of the heavens. This is the primary record for the reconstructed fresco.
