Head of a Bearded Man, 1st-2nd century A.D. Additional Info: This head of a bearded man was carved in green and dark red marbled glass imitating jasper. The man wears a headgear resembling a wreath or a skullcap. His features suggest the physiognomy of a man from the eastern Mediterranean or northern Africa. This portrait head is severely weathered. The lower part of the head, below the lips, is missing. The surface is covered with brownish accretions.
