Statue of a Boy with Grapes, first half of 2nd century A.D. Additional Info: The boy sits, looking to the viewer's left, but with his chest and stomach sharply rotated to the front as he turns to protect a cluster of grapes. His left leg lies flat on the ground, flexed at the knee, while the right is partially raised, with only the heel in contact with the base. He holds the fruit close to his chest with his right arm, cradling them with his left. The cluster is rich with grapes, and also has a vine leaf and part of the stem. The boy is missing the tip of his nose and some of his toes, but is otherwise well preserved. His unruly hair, partially tied up in a topknot, is rendered with thick curly strands. He sits on a low base, rounded at the sides, with a protuding rectangular section in front. The back is plain, but the front part has a concave molding with grooves above and below.
